Apple Crumble (gluten-free, lactose-free)

Ingredients

1 cup (250 mL) rolled oats *
1/3 cup (80 ml or 30 g) ground almonds
60 ml (¼ cup or 50 g) brown sugar, lightly packed
1/4 cup (60 ml or 25 g) sliced almonds
1 pinch of Maison Orphée Fine Grey Sea Salt
1/4 cup (60 ml or 55 g) Maison Orphée Coconut Oil
2 Tbsp (30 mL) lemon juice
6 large apples **, peeled, cored and cut into thick pieces
1/3 cup (80 ml or 70 g) brown sugar , lightly packed
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch of ground nutmeg

Preparation

Place the oven rack in the bottom of the oven. Preheat convection oven to 180oC (350oF) or conventional oven to 190oC (375oF).

1. In a bowl, combine rolled oats, almonds, brown sugar, almonds and sea salt. Add the coconut oil and mix with your fingers until the mixture is smooth and form small lumps. Reserve.

2. In a large bowl, pour the lemon juice add apples and mix well. Add brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Pour into a square pan 20 cm (8 inches) and press with your hands. Cover the mixture of oatmeal.

3. Bake about 45 minutes in the convection oven or 50 minutes in a conventional oven. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or frozen coconut milk dessert.
